How to REALLY Get Things Done

Posted by: cyberandy  /  Category: General

If you’ve ever struggled with getting things done, especially when you’ve not quite sure what exactly you need to do, and then have to schedule time to learn new things, dedicate time to trial and error and jump through hoops upon hoops just to make progress, then you’ve probably read a book or two on getting organized, goal setting, taking action, and other self-help stuff.

Unfortunately, the more complex your life and/or your project is, the harder it is to take consistent action in the areas that really counts. There are daily things that WILL distract you constantly and normally they win if you are not careful or if you don’t have a solid routine that steers you away from the distractions and into what you know you really should be doing.

Well, I’m going to assume that you’ve read what’s in the books and still struggle with this issue. I was the same way! Don’t get me wrong. The ideas in these books are pretty good, in general. It’s just that, when it comes down to it, it just isn’t that easy to do.

Fortunately, I stumbled upon a lifesaver yesterday. It’s called The Action Machine. Yes, like the name suggests. It’s a software. Now what it does is simple and amazing, and is meant to keep things simple for you, yet help you over come the typical reasons why you don’t get things done. Distractions and losing focus. I’ll let the video below explain it.

Pretty cool huh? Basically, it takes all your tasks (which you quickly input), and puts it infront of you VISUALLY, turns them into mini-goals, each with a countdown clock, and asks you to work on ONE of them at a time. We all know that multi-tasking have recently been proven to be detrimental to productivity. And The Action Machine helps you to work away from that deadly sin.

I got my copy and couldn’t be happier. The visual thing with the one at a time countdown clock really does it for me somehow, both logically and psychologically. Get yours too here!

This is a very good suggestion, I’ve been having this very big problem about not being able to make things done. I have read a couple of books about it but still not being able to cope with it.

After I originally commented I clicked the -Notify me when new feedback are added- checkbox and now each time a remark is added I get 4 emails with the identical comment. Is there any way you’ll be able to remove me from that service? Thanks!
