OMG. good job man ! I bent the pins on my Phenom quad core 9550. just by takening it out of the cpu holder from the retail box. The pins are so Tiny ! i used a knife edge to bend them back into row. and it worked.

How would we get away with 3 broken pins? My friend gave me an old AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ and it has 3 missing pins. I have a 478 1.8GHZ Celeron to take pins from.

I fix my phenom ii x2 with a needle and an id card. my pin does not destroy and remove from the cpu

Not a permanent solution though. One accidental kick to the side of your case and you run the risk of heatsink wiggling the CPU enough to break its contact with the pin. You’ve already established that it’s a critical one, so your server will (a) crash if it was on, or may simply not turn on at the next LAN party. Need a dab of solder or similar to physically bond the pin to its former pad.
