  2. chrishowtovideos says:

@Jerrychrist666 yes you will need to clean it and re apply thermal compound

  3. chrishowtovideos says:

@weedfan you need to clean it and re apply
thermal compound if you don’t then you’re CPU is fucked.

  4. 2ttsi says:

What is best of the cillicone type and the actic thing type?

  5. l2Bubble says:

“the whole process should take as long as it did just now…” – Orly… ^_-

  6. weedfan says:

when u install the heatsink n fan, do remove it again to check if thers to much of the grease? after checking can u put it back on or do u hav to clean it off n reapply?

  7. astros82 says:

    put now one

  8. Jerrychrist666 says:

if i took off my cpu cooler to clean it do i need to apply some new thermal compound when i put it back together or will it be okay the way it is?

  9. USAFp90x says:

    @FRURMELLL i caught that too, lol…

  10. FRURMELLL says:

    “Installing” thermal compound. LOL.

    That was very informative, tnx

  12. gitssacrules says:

Dude you have just changed the way i apply thermal compound XD
    thanks (Y)

  13. timmytime1793 says:

    @gitssacrules

yes the spread method makes air bubbles while the pea method is vergood at preventing them

also the center of the processor is really the only part you need to cover since that’s where the core-cores are

  14. 14KShadow says:

    Very clear. Thanks

  15. SteveCrothers says:

Yes, its a HUGE difference. If you spread you are ALWAYS going to have bubble formation, you will NEVER be able to get rid of the bubbles. Bubbles do NOT conduct heat, so it makes the thermal paste useless in an are that is bubble heavy. When you use the “pea” method, the CPU squeezes the paste, creating a vacuum and removing 100% of your bubble possibility.

  16. gitssacrules says:

Like i apply the grease with a card and spread it out across the hole CPU, but he says to do it with just a dab of past in the middle, do yous think it would make that much of a difference?

  17. meetajhu says:

    what cloth is that?

  18. dsdsz30 says:

This is the best video on how to apply thermal compund. Thank you, very much!!

  19. Timmie3054 says:

    no, its stock, 3.4Ghz

  20. Nartanian says:

Do you have the 125w or 140w version of the 965?

  21. SiNk0r says:

    have you o/ced?

  22. Timmie3054 says:

Why the hell am I getting 45c on idle and abbout 55 on load?

I have AMD Phenom II x4 965 I applied OCZ freeze as my thermal paste

  23. TheMRamstaff says:

stock cooler does not have enough pressure to spread it all over it just makes a small round:D
if u have a custom cooler u will be fine especialy the vennimous X from thermallright

  24. friedricey says:

nice video. I have tried all the methods and the blob in the middle yielded the best temperature results for me.

  25. peladodewilde says:

buenisimo..!!! por eso se me apagaba la pc. gracias y saludos.
