if you got a X3 that was able to unlock a fourth one, is was probably because it was a faulty phemon ……………….

If it isn’t on fire it still has headroom. (Managed to get mine to 3.9 with 1.45 vcore, and mine is a 710)

@GeekyShurtugal I’ve tried everything with the fourth core unlocked. It just was not stable. Its okay though I works just fine as a three core. I’ve heard that allot of these CPU’s have bad cores and thats why they sell them as two and three core cpu’s.

Try More CPUNB volatge, when Overclocking with a high HT ref (Upwards of 290) I had to add 0.1 volts to the cpu NB

@GeekyShurtugal I was able to unlock all the cores on my 720 no problem but I can’t over clock it as high. so I leave it as a 3 core. I maxed out at 3.4ghz as a four core and almost hit 4ghz as a 3 core but I leave it at 3.2ghz.

Some have bad cores, a bios reset fixes that issue. (My Tricore can unlock to a quad, but I need more Vcore to stabilize it)

lol i do turn off some of the aero features i dont realy need or care about and i use 1% less ram but still 64bit is a reasource hog =/
April 8th, 2010 at 7:38 pm
Ahh I see. I have 32bit. There are ways to tweak your system to run more efficiently, some might disable things you use sometimes, and some are illegal modifications.
April 9th, 2010 at 9:01 am
also what version of windows 7 are you using 32bit or 64bit im using 64bit and it does use more reasources than 32bit
April 11th, 2010 at 4:10 pm
ya but you probably got it from a new computer mine has all my old stuff backed up =p
April 14th, 2010 at 3:53 am
I’m using Windows 7 and I only use about 620mb on on idle. o_O
(Multiple processes are open in the background too)
April 15th, 2010 at 5:47 pm
Can you burn out the CPU by doing this? Because I tried this on my 550 BE and the computer would not turn on again until I put my old CPU back in. I returned the 550 and got the 720 it works fine now.
